Fun fact: What’s the leap about in a leap year?
It is actually a bit of a bold leap into the future. With the addition of an extra day in the calendar, all the fixed dates like Christmas or Valentine’s Day move forward one day from the previous year. For example, in 2019 Christmas was on a Wednesday, but in 2020 it will leap over Thursday and be on a Friday.
So in honour of days leaping ahead in the calendar, check out these words of inspiration…
Great quotes about taking a bold leap of faith in your life
“This is one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Neil Armstrong
If everything in the world is interconnected – at least that’s what I believe – then any leap you take is also in service of the big picture.
When you take a big step in your life, it has an impact on the people around you. Without even knowing it, you might give someone else the confidence or inspiration to take their own leap.
“Why not go out on a limb? That’s where the fruit is.”
Mark Twain
Everything you want, but don’t yet have, is outside of your comfort zone. Otherwise you would already have it.
The only way you are going to get it, is to push yourself further than you have in the past.
When you leap you gotta have faith
“Leap and the net will appear.”
John Burroughs
Often we want to have the whole plan in place before we are willing to take the first step. The problem is that we usually can’t see the entire path until we set out on the journey.
You can’t see what’s around the corner until you get to the corner and take a peek.
We usually can’t see the entire path until we set out on the journey. So take a step or be bold and take a leap of faith. Click To Tweet“If you risk nothing, then you risk everything.”
Geena Davis
It’s easy to play small and to take the path of least resistance. We get used to listening to those nattering little voices in our heads.
You know the ones that list off all the reasons why it’s too risky to take a step, why things might not work out or why we should just leave well enough alone.
When we repeatedly do that, we end up living a mediocre rather than an exceptional life.
“All growth is a leap in the dark, a spontaneous, unpremeditated act without benefit of experience.”
Henry Miller
Many of the leaps we take in life involve a deep breath and an act of faith. They are “just go for it” moments that don’t arise out of endless analysis of the pros and cons. They come from an inner urge to get out of our own way.
Maybe you need a bigger bolder leap of faith
“Don’t be afraid to take a big step if one is indicated. You can’t cross a chasm in two small jumps.”
David Lloyd George
There’s nothing wrong with baby steps. Slow and consistent action will get you to your goal eventually.
But every once and a while it’s worth considering what would happen if you took a bigger step. Imagine the impact of a bolder leap instead of inching your way to success.
“Creativity is always a leap of faith. You’re faced with a blank page, blank easel, or an empty stage.”
Julia Cameron
Human beings are inherently creative. Not necessarily in an artistic sense, but we all use our creativity to dream, to imagine, to plan, to problem solve.
When we trust the infinite possibilities that exist in the creative process, we can break through our self-imposed boundaries and limitations.
