Today is February 29th, which only happens once every four years. People born on this day finally get to celebrate on the calendar day of their birth. A leap day is added to the year to keep our calendar in alignment with the Earth’s revolutions around the sun. If it wasn’t added then I guess eventually our calendar would be completely out of whack.
What would you do if you could add an extra day to the year every so often?
Don’t tell me catch up on the laundry. Think for a minute. If you actually had a whole day, what are you longing to do? If for one day all the obstacles were removed, how would you spend your time?
The answer might give you some insights.
It might point you toward a neglected dream.
Maybe it gives you an idea of something you are currently missing in your life.
It could be a hint about things to begin saying yes, or no, to.
Whether it’s a leap day or not, we all have the same 24 hours. Are you trading them for the things that are most important and meaningful to you? Or does your time get spent on less important things or other people’s priorities?
Take this day. Ask yourself what you really, really want to be doing today. Then get out of your own way and start doing it. If you don’t, eventually you, just like the calendar, will be completely out of alignment. Go on. Take a leap.
